DADS ARE AWESOMER THAN THEY THINK (you could win a $250 Visa gift card if you read this post!!!)

FatherDaycollage copy

Dear Hubby,

I’ve been racking my brain for weeks trying to figure out what to give you for Father’s Day. Cologne? You don’t wear it. Tickets to something? Too expensive. Clothing? Ennnh, you’re happy with the nine million pit-stained t-shirts you already have. And the truth is MY money is basically YOUR money and really it’s all the KIDS’ money, so anything I buy for you comes out of our family account and I’d rather save it for something awesome than spend it on stupid present I managed to scrounge up at the drugstore at the last minute because I’m required to spend $40 on you for a silly Hallmark holiday. But I think I’ve come up with the perfect present.

Please don’t think I’m cheap for doing this because really it’s the thought that counts, right? Shoot, I hope it is. Okay, just in case you think this present sucks, please let me know and I’ll lie and say I have to go buy tampons or some other emergency item but really I’ll sneak over to Lowes or Home Depot and quickly buy you an electric screwdriver or some BBQ tools or something else we don’t need.

So here goes. This is what I’m giving you this year. No, I’m not kidding. This. Literally THIS. A letter. Yup, this letter is my present to you this Father’s Day. I know what you’re thinking, that I should run to Home Depot right now before they close. Wait, wait, don’t say that yet. Keep reading. Because what I’m about to say in this letter is really very important.

Here’s what I want to tell you.

When you asked me to marry you, I knew you were great. I knew that I had somehow gotten really lucky in life and that for the first time the stars aligned and gave me the best gift my life would ever receive. And I married up. I married up big time.

But here’s what I didn’t know. I didn’t know that you would actually get even better. I didn’t know that you would become the best father that ever existed. I mean I know I’m biased but I really truly believe it. Do you know those mugs and sweatshirts and picture frames that say #1 Dad? I’m seriously tempted go to every store on earth and buy them all because there is only one person they should go to. You.

The way you make our kids laugh. The way you tell them creative stories every day. The way you take them into your office even when you’re crazy busy and spin them on your chair. The way you’ll hug them after they throw-up but before they’re cleaned up. The way you volunteered to be Zoey’s soccer coach just so she might like soccer a little more. The way you record every Blackhawks game so you can watch the end with Holden the next morning since it’s always on after his bedtime. Or the way you share a green bean with him just to get him to try something new.

GreenBeanSharing

Etc etc etc etc etc.

I actually think that someday when the kids are older that they’re going to love you more than me. I know it’s a stupid thing to think. It’s not a competition. But it doesn’t bother me because you are THAT good. You deserve it.

So if you ever doubt yourself, don’t. If you ever think you’ve yelled at them a little too much, or if you ever feel like Zoey hates you because you’re being too strict, or if Holden ever sneaks out and you think it’s because you did a crappy job or something, stop. You are literally The Best Dad On Earth. And don’t you forget it.

Now I’m off to Home Depot to buy some “tampons.”

Love,

One damn lucky woman

Me, cause I make it through the day with my two kids… When does school start back up again?

  2. Chelsea at 10:19 am

My brother and sister in law! Well, technically the BIL is my husband’s cousin but whatevs. Anyways, they are awesome at parenting. They have 2 kids and both me and my husband agree that if something were to happen to us once we have children of our own, we would like for them to go live with them. We know they would be respectful and well rounded kids! I love those kids like they’re my own!

  3. Jennifer NUnez at 10:23 am

Dads are awesome for sure!! Thanks for the cry with the video on your blog! I want to nominate my loving, romantic, giving 100% of his time husband Oscar Nunez. Not only does he put up with my crazy b**t but he’s a stay at home daddy. Anyone who thinks any parent with a stay at home job thinks it’s a walk in the park as no clue! I’m thankful for him every day!

  4. Laura Mullins at 10:29 am

My husband is the best dad ever! He works hard each and everyday to make sure we want for nothing. Whenever he isn’t working he’s with our kids making sure they grow up right. His dad was never really there for him and still isnt. He wants to make sure our kids never have to wonder where their daddy is. 🙂

  5. Lesli at 10:33 am

My husband is the best dad ever! His ability to swoop in just when I am at my whit’s end is amazing. He keeps us all going the same direction and our children idolize him!

  6. Karen Palmer at 10:34 am

My 2 sons are the best dads ever……..they were so special to me as they were growing up and motherhood was so rewarding…….however, it continues to get better as they grow up and have children of their own and see what great dads they have become…….you think it is great right now but I know that someday when Zoey and Holden have children you will smile and smile at what great parents they are, overcoming the struggles and challenges that you are going through at this very moment…….I agree that it is wonderful to watch your husband being the great dad he is but just wait to have that same feeling towards the children you already cherish and love……..

  7. Megan M. at 10:37 am

My husband–he is waaay better at dealing with our four-year-old son than I am!

  8. Stefanie Mulley at 10:39 am

My husband is an amazing stepfather to my 3 children. He loves and provides for them as if they were his own children. I definitely could not do it without him. I am so thankful that he came into our lives.

  9. Lindsay W at 10:40 am

My hubs works his but off so I can stay home with my kids and he always tries to make them happy even when they’re being little a-holes.

  10. Mandi Martin at 10:42 am

My husband and my own father are at a very close tie for best Dad ever. My father has never, not once, let me down. My husband has taken my daughter from a previous marriage to raise just as if she were his own. I know not a lot of men are willing to do that and I’m eternally grateful.

  11. danielle santapaola at 10:43 am

my hubs is a pretty amazing dad. calm when I’m crazy, fun when I’m mean, strong when I’m weak. My kids are lucky bastards.

  12. Katie Leonhardt at 10:45 am

My husband totally deserves that gift card so I can run out and buy some “tampons”…I mean go to Lowe’s. He works so hard for us, is an amazing father and husband, and has to put up with me every day.

  13. Chelsea at 10:45 am

I am going to say my mom! She was always there for me and still is, see you never stop putting up with your kids crap, its forever <3 thanks mom!

  14. Nicole Shine at 10:45 am

I love your gift to your husband! I feel like I could have written those exact words for my husband — he too, is the greatest dad, so if you could only buy up half the #1 Dad crap, that would be great 🙂
I read all of your blogs, makes me feel like I’m right on track with my crazy kids/life. So thank you!

  15. Hillary at 10:49 am

My hubby for sure. He didn’t want to be stay at home dad but he’s making the best out of our situation!

  16. Renee Pinto at 10:55 am

My hubby!!! He is not only an amazing father to our four year old, he loves and cares for my three teenagers too. TEENAGERS being the operative word there. They really are OUR children now. He takes care of them like they are his own. I couldn’t ask for a better dad for them!!!

  17. Dana R. at 10:57 am

Of all the crappy parenting I witness, (and there’s a lot), I know an equal amount of awesome people doing the best they can at the toughest, (but most rewarding) job ever.

  18. Erin at 11:00 am

I love your gift to your husband! I may steal your idea now and write a sweet letter to my own for daddy day. My husband is an amazing parent. He is so much more patient with our kids than I am, and he works his b**t off so I can be a stay at home mom. He is truly my better half and the kids and I love him so much!

  19. Alicia at 11:01 am

Me, because I’m home all day and I have the pleasure of experiencing all the highs and lows of my 3 kids ages 9, 4&2½ then after all the fun and excitement I go to work in the evening and work in customer service and then I come home after all his done and clean my house from my husband and wild children Destroying it

  20. Judy Mitchell at 11:05 am

My husband. We have two girls he does daddy and me day every other Saturday with one girl where they spend alone time with him getting his individual attention. Now that they are getting in their late teens he spends time teaching them car maintenance and improving their driving skills. They go on dates with him so they know how a man should treat them. He goes to female self defense class with them.

  21. Nicole Cunningham at 11:06 am

My mom! I’ve got 2 little ones and sometimes they make me want to crawl into a closet in the fetal position and hide. But then I call my mom, she laughs and makes fun of me. and then she tells me how amazing I am, and how amazing my girls are, and how truly blessed we all are. My husband is really great too. He knows when to take the girls to the park.

  22. Samantha at 11:08 am

Love the letter! My neice is doing an awesome job as mommy and just gave birth to a perfect baby boy this morning!

  23. linda pedretti at 11:10 am

My Pastor. His wife died of Cancer several years ago and he is raising 3 girls(one is 15 and twin girls 13)alone. He also is taking care of our Church family and is doing an awesome job.

  24. Mandy Casteel-Denney at 11:16 am

My husband, cause not only does he put up with the kids s**t, but he puts up with my buckets of s**t too. And still seems to love us all. He came home yesterday, from a long day at his crappy job, and the first thing he says to me is how much he loves me and appreciates me. Then he hugs the kids. To me that is a great thing. Soon he will go back to working nights, and taking care of the kids during the day, all to save money in daycare costs that are too high.

  25. Marnie at 11:18 am

Our family – we’re a team so I’ll nominate us together!!

  26. Claire Amy at 11:19 am

I’m both a mother and a father to my 2.5 yr old Poppy. I work full time to support her and still find the energy to play games, teach her to read, and scrape some change together to go to the park and get an ice cream. I do this totally on my own- I wear clothes with holes in, never buy anything for myself, and never go out. But you know what? I love every second. Even when she’s pulling my eyelids open when I sleep and says’ you wanna build a snowman?’ Best. Wake up. Ever.
I love your blog and avidly read every single one and chuckle my a*s off. Keep up the fantastic work! 🙂

  27. Chenise Quiroz at 11:20 am

my boyfriend is the best parent ever! I never know how much I loved him until I saw him with our daughter. I know it sounds cheesy, but seriously I just melt. he is so amazing with her. he has an hour commute to and from work every single day and works 10-12 hour shifts, but that’s not the part that makes him the best dad. as soon as he gets home he grabs our daughter and plays with her as much as he can until dinner (which he feeds her) then gives her a bath and puts her to bed. he told me he wants to do these things so he can get just that much more time with her since he’s gone all day. he doesn’t know how amazing he truly is and that $250 could send him to a football game with his friend to enjoy a true day off that he very much deserves!!

  28. rachael m at 11:22 am

My husband. He is a great father to our 3 kids. He is a hard worker and the most selfless person I know. ❤️❤️❤️Im a bit of a germaphob and he always steps up to clean up the voimit, hold their hair back and calm my nerves. I would be lost without him. He works long days and still comes home to hold the baby and be a personal jungle gym for the older 2.

  29. Emily at 11:23 am

My dad is the BEST grandpa. He is endlessly patient with our kids. He is the one who will be walking laps with the overtired baby, reading the story for the 200th time, or sitting with the 3-year-old while she eats one…slow…bite…at…a…time when the rest of us are well past our breaking point. Plus he can make them laugh like no one else. It is fun for me to watch, because I feel like it’s a glimpse of what he was like as a dad when my brother and I were little ones.

  30. Caroline Cramer at 11:28 am

My husband whom struggles with mental illness every day is driven to stay on track to enjoy our little family is the most amazing father, husband and best friend. I am so proud of his drive to not let his diagnosis control his (our) / lives. He kicks bi-polar’s a*s every day and should be recognized for how proud we are all of him…..Love You ! #FUMENTALILLNESS

  31. Christen at 11:28 am

My hubs is a teacher and works his a*s off allllll day with kids, and then comes home and is awesome with our three. I couldn’t do it. He’s awesome.

  32. Chenise Quiroz at 11:29 am

my fiancé is the best parent ever! I never knew how much I loved him, until I saw him with our daughter. I know it sounds cheesy, but it is totally true! he supports our family so I can stay home and raise our daughter. not only does he work 10-12 hour days, but he has an hour+ commute each way. that’s not even the best part. as soon as he gets home from work he grabs our daughter and plays with her until dinner (which he feeds her) then gives her a bath and puts her to bed. it gets even better.. he told me he wants to do all of these things at night so that he can spend that much more time with her. *melting* if we won the $250 gift card I would give him what he truly deserves: a day off to relax at a cardinals game with his friends. that money would even cover the cost of an uber driver so he can grab a beer or two! 🙂

  33. Katie at 11:31 am

My amazing husband and soulmate is such an incredible step-daddy to my 7-year-old daughter Ava and now an amazing real daddy to our 8-week-old baby girl Emery. What’s incredible about him is he chose to be a father to Ava when he didn’t have to be. He made me realize early on in our relationship, after much resistance from me (due to my inability to really believe that someone could be SO amazing), he wanted to share the load with me for the rest of our lives. He takes her to her dance and gymnastics classes, he buys geeky things like an Arduino so they can do programming “projects” together, and he enrolls her in like a hundred camps every summer to keep her active, learning, and entertained.

Now he gets to experience the early years he missed with Ava with our new little girl, Emery. As terrified as he was at first of Emery’s impossible tiny-ness, I came home one day to find he’d given her a bath all by himself after previously swearing he’d break her if left to do it on his own… And if ever I need some me-time, he’s the first to grab the baby and take her and Ava downstairs for some lego-building so that I can read my book without having to reread the same line over and over and over again…

He is also able to handle my insanity without permanently turning to booze 😉

My husband and your husband should start the First Annual Dad Games 2015! My husband is the best Dad to our kids. I only decided to have kids after seeing how amazing a dad he would be. Because that wasn’t in my plans like some people. It would’ve been an injustice to him & his unborn kids. So this year we should start the Dad Games in Chicago! A contest to find the actual BEST Dad out there! Kinda like American Ninja, but with diapers, tricycles and little girl socks that have the bows on the outside!

  35. Shauna at 11:49 am

Is it horrible I say myself? I decide to be a SAHM this February and also decided to care for two other children during the day. So daily I have my threenager daughter and my 18 month old son along with two one year olds. Normally my hubby comes home around 530 from work, allowing me a break and adult conversation but last Friday he left for a fishing trip in Canada…he comes home Saturday. Ugh! I could totally use this for many other reasons too. Thanks for the opportunity. Shauna

  36. Mackenzie Quintal at 11:55 am

My husband, the father of my 3 boys- ages 6, 3, and 10 months. Our oldest son was diagnosed with Autism when he was three. For those who are on this journey with us, they know that many days are extra challenging. My husband has been my strength when I couldn’t see past the toughest days. He has encouraged and supported us as our son has grown and overcome through prayer, therapy and hard work. I am so thankful to have my husband by my side on our journey of parenthood.

  37. Riana at 11:58 am

My husband works hard each and everyday to make sure we are taken care of, he is the best father I could have picked for our girls…. We love him so very much

  38. Emily at 12:00 pm

Parenting is rough, but I think that my dad has done a pretty great job. Just this weekend, he dropped everything so we could go on a father-daughter road trip. If you need a history lesson, some life advice, or help on an essay, he’s seriously the best!

  39. jennifer Roke at 12:05 pm

My husband is an amazing father. Our daughters get so excited to see him when he comes home from work every day and I love watching them together. He has a great relationship with them and I love it!

    • Jen at 12:28 pm

My husband rocks because he is the family chef. He cooks amazing stuff for dinner every night after working all day. He persistently encourages both kids (ages 3 and 6) to try new foods as they outgrow their picky phases. I would love to get him a backyard smoker, which has been on his wish list for years, so he can smoke meats (and of course you’re invited over to try some 🙂 Thanks for the laughs BS! And today’s letter is so sweet!

  40. Julie Mills at 12:10 pm

My husband is the best dad. He is a stay-home dad and has a very special relationship with our kids. I love that he is showing both kids a different view of traditional gender roles, and that fathers can be nurturing too.

  41. Rachel Holmes at 12:23 pm

I wish I could say my kids’ father but I’d have to say my friend Eric is the most awesome dad I know. Soooo patient & dedicated to his girls – even coaching their softball team!

  42. Christy at 12:23 pm

My husband is awesome. He has 3 daughters and I have a son. His daughters were teenagers when we started dating and my son was 3. He basically had to start over raising kids and not only that but a completely opposite kid. A boy. Be knew how to deal with girl stuff and was used to that so now having a boy was different. He stepped up in so many ways for my son whose birth father is never around. He makes it a point to be at every baseball practice or game our now 6 yr old has. He tries his hardest to ensure that not only my son but his daughters have everything they need and sometimes more.

  43. Ann Hacker at 12:24 pm

    My husband. Best. Dad. Ever.

  44. Laura at 12:27 pm

My parents are the best! They have always been there for me and my brother. They raised 2 of my moms much younger sisters, caring for the youngest during the year she fought and sadly lost her fight with cancer at 29. They have always taken in anyone having a hard time in life and helped them get back on their feet. Through them I have learned about unconditional love and truly caring about people❤

  45. Wendi at 12:37 pm

My dad!! Well starters he put up with me for 41 years. And secondly for the last year he has been by my moms side after she’s had 4 surgeries, including the original knee replacement, on her knee and, several hospital stays, 6 weeks in a nursing home. They just bought a camper the month before the first surgery and were planning many trips over the last year that have had to be out on hold!

  46. Heather Holter at 12:44 pm

My sister has psoriatic arthritis. She has a four year old that she plays with and is good at finding ways to keep him entertained when her body won’t cooperate and teaches him many things in a fun way! She is amazing.

  47. MKK at 12:48 pm

My husband, is hands down, the best dad I know and our kids will totally love him more than me which is OK, because he deserves it 🙂

  48. Leah Sharpe at 12:52 pm

Definitely my husband is the best Dad ever (sorry to burst your bubble) he is a stay at home dad to our 2 (soon to be 3) kids. Not only is he a stay at home dad but he is also disabled. He was in a car accident when he was a teen, thrown from the back of a pickup truck and then the truck rolled and landed on him (specifically the back of his head). He is the kindest, most giving and patient person and Dad I have ever known. He loves our kids like I know no one else ever could. He amazes me with all he does with and for them every day!

  49. Kim at 1:08 pm

My husband is an awesome father and works very hard to support our family. Our one year old already has 4 pedal tractors that he can’t ride yet so he can grow up to farm just like his daddy!

  50. katie hedges at 2:01 pm

Love this post! My hubby Brandon qualifies as the best dad on earth to our 3 little crazies. Xoxo

  51. Katie G. at 2:05 pm

My husband. He puts up with all of us somehow and still has hair on his head! It’s a miracle 🙂

  52. Robin Miles at 2:20 pm

My cousin is a single mom to a HLHS autistic boy and she is awesome at it.

  53. Michael Whipps at 2:26 pm

I got a letter like that some years ago. I found it again last year, shortly after my wife of 48 years passed away. It is now a treasure I will never lose again!

  54. Amy Wilson at 2:27 pm

My husband also my girls daddy, he always wanted a boy but it didn’t happen but he is the best daddy to his 3 girls! He has been working extra hard over the past yr trying to pay of student loans it would be great to win this so when he takes time off in July we can go somewhere fun!!! He really deserves it!!!

  55. sara.kim@ah.org at 2:30 pm

my dad is the best dad. he is always there to help me whenever I have a problem. he always listens and tries to understand the whole picture.

  56. Sherilyn G. at 2:57 pm

My husband is a great dad to our two girls! He works hard — 50 to 60 hours a week, so I can do my dream job of teaching second grade. During the school year, he helps cook and clean because I work 60 + hours/week. He makes us laugh every single day and is always teaching our daughters how to become good people.

  57. Erin fischer at 3:12 pm

You know how they say you’ll marry someone just like your dad? Well I did and he had all the best traits that my dad has. So together they are the two best dads out there. They both are the best nurses when your sick. My dad will buy up the whole cough medicine aisle just to get you feeling better. In addition to making home made chicken soup and card to make you feel extra better. My husband will go above and beyond to fix stuff. He loves to solve a problem for you and make it better instantly. He’s always there with a foot rub or a “hey your b**t looks good!” Comment.
This is why I choose both of them as the best dads ever.

    -Erin Fischer.

  58. Paige B at 3:14 pm

My hubby who works 70-80 hours a week and never says no when little man wants to wrestle/color/play video games/read a book. He is the BEST dad in the whole world 🙂

  59. sara tsioles at 3:40 pm

My husband is a stay at home dad to our two year old and two month old. He can change a diaper likes nobodies business gets all the words wrong to little kids songs but sings at the top of his lungs dancing with our toddler, his lyrics are funnier anyway. He is great at coloring and teaching soccer. He even braves the park with the yoga pant mafia mom’s staring him down for being a dad with children. I am thankful for him every day!

  60. LeAnne Hartzog at 3:52 pm

I nominate my husband.. Not only does he have a full time paramedic gig he also teaches emt and first responders classes is a member of the volunteer fire department and has recently started back school to become a doctor he spends every moment of his life trying to figure out how to make the life of us and our three kids better. He loves family time and if he won it would become a family vacation fund…. All fathers and parents in general are great but j think j have the best one!!!! So happy Father’s Day to the dads and to all the single mothers out there!

  61. Alisa Rodrigues at 3:53 pm

My hubby works so hard for his family!

  62. Jackie at 4:08 pm

Sweet post! Your husband and my husband should get together. Sounds like they are both amazing fathers. If I had daddy issues I’d say I hit the double jackpot! He does things like remaining calm when my then 14 month old left our house and somehow managed to cross the busy street to head over to the park without us knowing.

    Really enjoy your blog!

    http://cupofjackie.blogspot.com

  63. Lysie at 4:11 pm

My hubs is amazing. He provides for us so my kids can have an at home parent. He puts up with the incessant chatter of my 6 year old on the drive home from school. He teaches our children Greek with patience. He loves us despite my nagging and bitching. He loves our 2 year old despite her being a 2 year old. He makes it through our chaos with dignity (mostly) and grace ( more or less)

  64. nonsequiturchica at 4:41 pm

I nominate my husband. We are definitely a team but he has been an even better father than I thought he would be. He is so adorable with our daughter.

  65. Becky at 5:08 pm

My husband! I’m currently sitting in the rain, reading your blog waiting for my daughter’s soccer game to start and watching my husband coach and warm up the team. He coaches my 10 yr old daughter’s team and my 6 yr old son’s team, he has the patience of a saint. I don’t know how he does it all while also supporting our family as a firefighter. He is our hero.

  66. Alissa Hansen at 5:15 pm

My husband is an incredible father, quite possibly the best there is!! He is patient and calm, imaginative, and an incredible teacher to our two lively boys. Our fiery threenager, Rhys, can really try our patience, but my husband works beautifully with him during his meltdowns and stubborn, “I don’t want to” fits! He is the perfect father in every way. Actually he’s probably better at rangling the three and one year old than I am. Quite a talent for anyone. Love that guy!!!!

  67. Katrina Crosby at 6:23 pm

My husband is one of the best dads I’ve ever met. No matter how tired he is, no matter how much he’s given, he always finds a way to give even more. He is the glue to our family and makes sure everything gets done.

  68. Lauren n. s. at 6:42 pm

My sons father is amazes me everyday…i am more than grateful for him and I know I don’t tell him enough how much I appreciate all he does for us. He works long hours but still managed to help with our son and in fact lol i sometimes think our son prefers him over me. Compared to what some of my friends say about their spouse and lack of help they receive I am glad I cant say the same. Mine cooks, helps clean up, bathes him, plays with him, reads stories, helps put him to bed when he isn’t working nights, fixes things when they vreak and the list goes on and on. I hope to win this gift so I can get him something he deserves and I usually can’t afford lol.

My best friend is a great mom. She has three kids (her youngest is the same age as my oldest) and I always ask her for advice!

My husband. Simply put . . . there aren’t enough works in the dictionary to describe what a wonderful man he is, and that includes using the swear words and the words people never even heard of to describe what he means to me and our kids.

My husband! He’s got more patience with our son than I do, which says a lot right there. He’s always willing to take over when I need a break. No matter how many days straight he’s been up at 5 am, he’ll always scoop up our son and play until they both pass out. He spent my entire first trimester doing literally ALL the cooking, cleaning, and laundry. What more could I ask for?!

My step dad is the best dad anyone could ever imagine. He married my mom plus 3 bratty kids. He has raised all of us as his own. If asked didn’t you want your “own” kids he would simply say I have 3 kids of my own. I am so extremely thankful for him. Even when in middle school he would blare KISS music while dropping us off! Those are now memories I treasure. If he wins the $250 gift card that would be totally awesome!!! He recently lost his job this year after working for the company for 19 years!!! But everything happens for a reason and he’s so happy now!

I’m widowed and the question always comes up how I celebrate father’s day with my kids… and my answer is simple, my late husband, my children’s father, is still the very best father my kids will ever have and we will never stop celebrating that. My kids are always given the choice who they want to make a father’s day gift for, and while they will often make a picture or letter for another important man in their life, like their “bad” Uncle Josh, they always make sure to make something special for their dad too. I will never stop celebrating the fact that a great man existed and gave me some of the best gifts I could ever ask for. It also means I get to drink twice as much wine at the end of the day…because gosh darn it those kids wear me out. Let’s be real, I need $250 for more wine!

Why did I get an email on June 15th titled “new post, you could win a $250 gift card” when the contest ended May 11th?

My husband, sole financial provider working at a job he hates so I can be home with my kids. And I’m totally copying your father’s day gift.

I always say that my husband is the father to my kids that I always wished I’d had growing up. He’s certainly a way better parent then I am! He’s so patient and creative with our kids and even on days when he makes me completely crazy and I can’t stand to look at him, seeing him with our kids totally melts my heart.

My boyfriend. Right now we only have two large dogs that we treat like children but our first human baby is on the way! He treats our dogs like children and already shows so much love for our new baby. He is busy trying to start a company and working for almost nothing so that way someday he can give our children everything they deserve!

My godmother’s husband. I can only hope to one day meet and marry a man as wonderful and attentive as he is. He has mad love for his daughter and mine as well. He is always there for his daughter, whether it be school activities, church activities, etc. He goes above and beyond to be a wonderful role model for his daughter to judge all her future dates. I have seen him go to the pool with painted fingernails and toenails, he has worn a pink tu-tu and dyed his hair pink to run a 5K with us ladies. He helps his wife maintain their home, yard, vehicles, etc. all while working a job that he spends 3 hours a day on the road driving back and forth to. He is one amazing man!

My husband is super dad to our 3 kiddos (almost 6 and 3 year old twins)! I travel often for work, and he takes my 2 week China trips completely in stride with no help! He works amazingly hard at his job, and then comes back and works just as hard around our home! Every night I ask my kids what their favorite part of the day was, and I love when they answer “Going to Dunkin’ Donuts with Daddy for breakfast!” I loved those special outings with my dad and I’m so happy my kids will have those memories too!

My husband, who gave up his career after I was hit by a car while crossing the street in 2012 and shortly thereafter our son was diagnosed with ASD. He shuttles to schools and therapies, kisses ouchies and more. He is phenomenal and our rock to cling to while I regain my work life and attend therapies myself.

  86. Alyssa at 1:19 pm

My husband is the best dad I know. Even if he has absolutely no idea how to calm our kids or handle a situation, you would never know it. He never takes any time for himself when he gets home from work. He goes right into dad mode and plays with them. He is also amazing at disciplining!

  87. Nicole Martinez at 8:46 am

My hubby is a great dad! Love him.

Husband. Last week I had a horrible fever for 3 days, couldn’t get out of bed. We were on vacation at my parents house. He parented for both of us & put up with my folks.

My wife. She went to college full time during the week, drove two hours to work full time while taking care of her disabled mother and preschool daughter.

My husband for sure! He works his a$$ off so I can stay home with our 4 boys. Not only does he work all day, but he also bathes the boys at night. (So I can eat the kids candy without hiding in the pantry) He has taken all 4 of them for the weekend just so I can be alone! After 16 years together, he’s better now than when we met. ?
