Are you FREAKING out about this? I know I am

Okay, so I’m kinda freaking out. WTF are we going to do with our kids all summer?!! I know they haven’t officially canceled camp yet, but it’s looking like they won’t be going back in June and I’m not even sure I’ll feel good about sending them in July and unless the gods listen to my prayers and give us summer school (pretty pleeeeeease with vodka on top), my kids are going to be home all day every day waking me up at the ass-crack of dawn to say, “What can I do? I’m BORED!!!”

So you know what I did last night? I jumped on Amazon to order some stuff for the the backyard. And holy crap, a lot of it was OUT OF STOCK already!!! Yup, apparently every mom on the planet has the same fears as me. But I did manage to find some cool stuff to get that maybe might possibly keep them occupied so I don’t go out of my mind.

And since I love you guys and I don’t want all the moms in the world to go insane (P.S. I’m an Amazon Associate so I earn from qualifying purchases) I’ve put together a list of awesome stuff that can help entertain your kiddos when they’re stuck at home this summer. All of these pictures are clickable and will take you straight to them!! Here you go:

A tree swing!! Adorable kid not included. Which is awesome because F if I want any more kids right now.

In-line skates!! The size adjusts inside the skates so they can grow with your kid, and the wheels light up so you can see your child as they skate away from you and leave you in peace.

Bags!! Otherwise known as cornhole but I think cornhole sounds dirty because my mind’s in the gutter so I call it bags.

The cutest inflatable pool ever!! And it comes with the most adorable inflatable strawberry!! I mean…

A hammock!! So you have somewhere to relax and sip on your margarita while your kids don’t bother you. Bwhahahahaha, just kidding. Magical kid-repelling forcefield not included.

Why watch a movie in the comfort of your home when you can watch it in the itchy grass with mosquitoes biting you? Maybe because there’s something magical about watching it under the stars with your socially-distanced neighbors.

A kite!! Did I pick an octopus kite because I love octopuses? Not really, but this was the bestselling kite on Amazon and flying a kite just seems like a fun thing to do this summer.

A Ninja warrior line!! For people who want their children to do totally badass things, like build strong muscles and not pester their parents all day long.

A basketball hoop!! Is it portable? Yes. Does the height adjust? Yes. Will your kid grow up to be the next NBA star and make a fortune? Hopefully!

Sidewalk chalk!! This set has 20 pieces for not too much moola. Are there other kickass sets out there too? Yes. But I don’t feel like spending 9 million dollars on sidewalk chalk.

A trampoline!! Me last year: Trampolines aren’t the safest. Me this year: A trampoline sounds like an awesome way to occupy my kid and let them burn off energy. P.S. They are selling out FAST so jump on it if you want one.

A bigger baby pool!! Don’t forget to always keep an eye on your kiddos when they’re swimming. Which is a lot easier when you can fit in there with them.

A volleyball/badminton net!! I bought this plus a volleyball and I researched the heck out of nets to make sure I wasn’t getting one that’s super flimsy. I’ve put the one here from the same brand as the one I got because it’s available right now and I think it might come with a volleyball.

A bounce house!! Looking for a magic toy that will occupy your kids for hours? My kids STILL play with this toy and we bought it like seven years ago. Now if that’s not a miracle, I don’t know WTF is.

There you go! Are you still freaking out about summer? Me too.

If you liked this, don’t forget to share it with all the moms you know so they don’t go insane this summer! Thank you!!!!

Yes, I am freaking out about this! Mostly because I have an only child and don’t know when she’ll see friends again. So funny that we already have a lot of this stuff. She loooooves her trampoline. Basketball hoop and ninja course are on my wish list. I might buy them sooner since you said a lot of stuff was out of stock!

I love this except we have a tiny backyard that we share with two other families without kids. There’s only so much equipment we can put out:(

Us, too. Sidewalk chalk, a mini net for soccer or street hockey, a soccer ball, a few hockey sticks and tennis b***s, a couple of hula hoops, some skipping ropes, a sensory table, a scooter, and a plasma car are what we use to occupy our kids. Rebounders (personal sized trampolines) are good for small spaces, too.

Great post. Thank you! You certainly saved me a lot of time and thought. I ordered the “bags” and the octopus kite. We’ve played “bags” before, but we don’t have our own set, which I didn’t realize until I saw your post, and now with social distancing, I decided we needed our own set! Plus it will get my son outside! He is especially excited about the octopus kite too! Thanks again!

Oh my. What a long sentence and I guess you cannot edit. But you still get my point!

I’ve been reading your posts for a long time now but this one really hit close to home — haha.Thank you I love these suggestions! I, too, started looking for backyard stuff and have been stunned at how much is already gone.

I honestly don’t know how you parents are going to survive the summer, after this loooong ‘spring break’! But these things certainly look like they will help! And, even though we don’t have kids, there are a few things on here I want for myself! Unfortunately the Homech ‘bigger’ baby pool is not in stock. Bummer!
